The Designer

Cavanagh Baker is a luxury women’s wear designer based in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Cavanagh is a 2014 fashion design graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design, where her all-black senior collection, based on Edgar Allen Poe’s Gothic poem, “The Raven,” received many honors upon its debut, including coverage in Women’s Wear Daily and Fashionista. Three pieces from the collection were selected to walk in the juried 2014 SCAD Fashion Showcase. The collection was chosen for display for a year at the SCAD Savannah campus, and later walked in the first-ever SCAD Fashion Showcase Hong Kong in 2015. Two pieces from the same grouping were chosen to be displayed at the SCAD FASH Museum in Atlanta, with one look presented alongside the work of Oscar de la Renta at the Museum’s opening. Before launching her namesake company, Cavanagh worked in Reebok’s athletic design department in Boston. She left that position in mid-2015 and moved to Nashville, where she opened her first design studio in early 2016. Cavanagh's designs are sold exclusively at her design studio, located in Suite 229C of Nashville's Cummins Station.
